I like to joke that it wouldn't be a Caddy without some kind of rattle but this one isn't so funny anymore. It sounds like it is coming from the front driver side wheel area. I know my description is vague but has anyone had this happen, can give a suggestion on where to look?

If it is a really sharp rattle when you go over bumps, it is most likely going to be your swaybar endlinks. It could also be the sway bar bushings, but your best bet would be to check the end links. Does it happen only when you are driving it, or when it is sitting still?

My Seville did that when I first got it. Seems that the siren for the alarm system (fastened to the plastic liner that covers the fuse box and inner wheel well) was loose.
A bit of lock-tite and torque resolved the issue. Mine was, however, more of an occasional "thud" than a rattle.

I've been having a 'rattle' too, sounds like the lid on some box isn't on right? (that's what is 'sounds' like)...also, sounds seem to come from the area of battery.........? (Then, it'll stem from the back wheel?, but mostly the right front, like where the battery is)

I don't know either..........nobody hears it but me....?

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Not to be a smarty pants but, how could it happen when it is sitting still?

At first I though it was the exhaust but it isn't. It must be something in the front end in that area. I'm going to dig around later this afternoon. I'll report my findings.

Well, my seville was rattling in the front end while I was idleing and sitting still. I found out it was the idler pully when it left me stranded on the side of the road in the 100 degree Texas heat :annoyed: . If it only happens when you are driving it, it is going to be the end links or the sway bar bushings.

could it not be a strut issue?
Struts usually have a very distinct *cha-thunk*. It's kinda hard to explain, but only a strut makes the sound. The end links are notorious on these cadillacs, both the end links and bushings were shot on mine and it sounded HORRIBLE.
