My '92 Deville has about 202k but runs fine and is in nice condition. Last night, it began running a little rough and cutting out on acceleration, suddenly showing fuel level going down fast, and the ride control seems to have stopped working properly as the rear struts became rock hard with no give at all. The engine would start, but with a rough idle, and lots of vapor, smelling like fuel, from the exhaust. This morning I did the fuse pull reset for the ECM and it smoothed out on startup. The rear struts are still hard with no give at all when I stand on the rear bumper.

I did the suggested BCM reset, by undoing both battery cables and touching them together, at least as well as I could with the positive having that double cable set. That hasn't helped at all, but after that reset, the trunk pulldown doesn't work at all. The trunk release works fine as does the fuel door release and the radio is also fine, but the pulldown motor doesn't raise the loop back up after the release opens the trunk.

Any suggestion is appreciated. Is this a possible BCM problem?
