left turn signal only works if you hold it in position right before it "clicks" please someone tell me someting

Junk yard switches are NOT a good idea. The original switches on those cars were not a great design and the later replacement parts were better quality. On top of that, the R&R procedure is rather lengthy so I'd tend to want to make sure the switch I'm putting in actually works.
