Hey guys so my grandpa passed away 10 years ago and my cousin took over this 87' coupedeville. I bought it off him 2 years later. car ran perfect because my grandpa would barely drive it unless it was to the liquor store. I got it at 70k miles and it now has 89k. back in 2008 I would drive this car as a pizza boy and again no problems besides water pump and power steering. I went off to school in 2009 and couldn't afford the registration and college expenses. I had no help from family. so I was not driving her for about 2-3 years and the car sat in my grandparents driveway. finally im trying to bring her back to life and I have been for the last few years off and on. with it sitting it caused a lot of problems. cracked brake solenoid or something like that. needed brakes all around from rust. radiator flus tune up tires battery etc. with all that done the car started up in 1 shot. sounds like I remember revs strong and idles perfect.
problem: so after driving for a good 5 minutes everything is normal but then while cruising on the throttle the car starts to lose power in a decelerating motion and the car starts to hesitate or hiccup trying to get power back and sometimes it does but the end result is it always dies and shuts off. I can start it up again but once the car is warm it just repeats itself. sometimes I can cruise for 10 minutes or more and everything seems fine but again history repeats itself.
help: what should I do. im not extremely experienced but im pretty good at research and if directed to do something I can figure it out. I just need a starting point. battery is new. I bought that stuff you put in the gas to help clean injectors but maybe im not giving it enough time. I bought spark plugs so that's my next move. someone said it may be an o2 sensor, crank sensor, or a bad fuse somewhere or coil. any help is greatly appreciated. want to drive my grandpas car again.
