Hey y’all I have an 84 commercial chassis with the 6.0 carbureted. I wasn’t passing smog super high co so I got a reman carb. And adjusted it on a gas bench and at idle it’s perfect. At 2500 rpm the co is 7% still. I tried adjusting the primary’s but nothin. My buddy who is a smog tech says that the electric solenoid on the carb seems to be not getting the right signal to lean it out. Is there an adjustment for that solenoid or is it controlled by a computer ?

If no one here has an answer for that, try the guys at www.allcarbs.com.

If the engine runs an electronic Quadrajet by Rochester, Amazon the book by Doug Roe - HP books "Rochester Carburetors". Everything you want to know.

The solenoid should be pulsing. It should be audible with key on engine off for at least a few seconds.

The higher the duty cycle of the solenoid, the less fuel is delivered by the carbonator off idle.

This system looks like a C3 instead of DEFI which was used on most other Cadillacs of that era. If it is a C3 system it will be very similar to what Oldsmobile used.

When it is running you should hear a steady click-click-click-... coming from the solenoid. It has a two prong plug and sits in top of the carb. If you do not hear it it is not working and they will also make it rich when they're bad
