Hi there,

I've got to replace the AC programmer in my 83 Seville. I tried to find the thing using the manual but I couldn't figure out how to get to it. Has anyone here done it and knows how to replace it?

Thanks
Andrew

Yeah its behind the glove box you have to take the liner out and drop the ecm down to get to it. There's an electrical connection and a vacum manifold with a single nut in the center of it to remove.

----------

There's a linkage with a plastic pin holding it to the lever take note of the length so you can set it back the same.

Right on, appreciate that! Last time I looked in there behind the glovebox there was definitely something in the way. I guess that's the ECM.

I'll take a look in a couple of days and hopefully have a good report back.

Cheers!

Quick update.

So I managed to figure out how to remove the programmer, but it was a huge PITA. So instead, I thought it might ONLY be the power module. I understand that is usually the case, but the last time I tried to replace the part I bought three from a pick and pull and nothing worked. So I thought it was something else.

Well, I pulled three more today, and the first one worked. So I saved myself the hassle of replacing this programmer. Thanks so much for helping me figure out how to remove it just in case the time comes that I actually do need to replace it.

Cheers!
