I have stock HID's (4,300k) and im about to ordwe new D1S bulbs for the low beams and a 9145 HID Kit for my fogs... for you guys out there that have already done this do u think i should go with 8,000k or 10,000k? I dont want purple looking lights so 12,000 are out of the question. I'm leaning towards 8,000k after looking at different color charts online.

I had 10,000 k from a previous car for low, high and fog. So I had to order 10,000k for the low beams for this car. But they didn't match for some reason. I then ordered 8,000k for the low beams and they look a lot better.

If you would like to have cheap 10,000k just pm me. I won't feel upset if you don't though.

Assuming your HIDs are 55w, 8000k will have approximately 750 less lumen then the 4300k you have now. You're sacrificing useful light output for tasteless color. JMHO

That is far from the truth. I up graded to 8,000k and it's better and brighter.

Maybe your previous bulbs were crap then.
4300-6000k is the brightest, anything in either direction is less bright.

technically 3,000K's are the brightest lights you can get. rolex has it right, but i still think replacing the 4300K's with somethign a little bit more on the icy blue side would look better. trust me, if you have four HID bulbs going at 6000K or 8000K, you won't be needing more light.

this is all about the look. i personally have 6000K's top and bottom with LEDs and they all match up really well.

Okay, I believe it if you say so.

Factually though, going from a 4000k to 8000k hid, you'll be losing several hundred lumens of light output. Feel free to prove me wrong or call me a dirty liar. ;)

i ended up going with the 6,000 and absolutely love them... i did the clear fog mod and took out the separator between the fog and the turn signal (as I've seen allot of us do), made it look amazing.
