Hey folks. I was wondering what it the correct color for painting my rusty exhaust manifolds. I have seen silver and some other colors. Is there a product out there that matches the correct GM color? Any help would be great! Thanks!

From the factory, all GM manifolds are bare cast iron. And they rust immediately.

If you want to paint them, there are actually a number of products. I know I've used some Eastwood manifold paint. You can get it in different colors. Just Google "exhaust manifold paint" and you'll find lots of options. Most of them are straightforward. You paint the stuff on, then run the engine (lots of smoke and fumes) and the coating bakes on. Then there are header coatings that can be done on manifolds as well, you send them out to a shop that does the coating for you.

There's also other stuff you can use that I see advertised, Calix (sp?) coating? It's not paint, it just keeps the manifold a natural cast color.
