Does anyone know why when I turn the A/C on on my 70 coupe Deville it makes a loud squeaking noise? I thought maybe the pulley needed some grease or oil so I sprayed some wd40 and the squeaking stopped but then as soon as it burned off the sound came back. Anyone have any ideas?

A squealing noise is usually a very worn or loose belt. The A/C compressor puts a load on all the belts, so check them all. How old are the belts? Each belt should deflect about a half an inch at the most. Never lube a belt! Belts are designed to grip a pulley so any lube will cause it to slip worse.
