Hi folks,

I am interested in finding a '61 - '64 Sedan de Ville as a nice-weather driver. Emphasis on DRIVER.

Aesthetically speaking, I like all four model years for different reasons so they are of equal interest.

If you were going to have one of these four years as a driver, which one would you suggest and why?

I have heard that the '64s have TH400 transmissions (which is good), but is that a reason NOT to get a '61 '62 or '63?

I am hoping to get feedback so I can hone my search among the cars that are out there on the market.

Thanks in advance,
~Matt near Milwaukee

I would buy the best car I could find, and not worry about the year. Set the max budget, and see what kind of quality your budget can get you...

I have had several Cadillacs of this vintage in the past, they are all good cars. Just be sure to look carefully for rust, they are bad for that. I did have a problem with the A frames ripping out of the frame on a 61 convertable. A thorough inspection on a lift would be a good idea.
