no he used vette hubs

cts hubs are a direct swap front and back, i did all the research on it, but i could not find anyone willing to get up off a set for reasonable cost.

oops i might add that they are not 5x 4.75 they are about the bolt pattern you would find on an rx-7 or ford mustang

Good call, I missed the CTS part and only saw 5 lug.

Thanks Ted. :)

The C5 bolts right in aside from a lip on the front spindle that needs grinding off. I didn't need a parking brake and went Z06 front rotors on all corners.

The C5 Corvette hub allows the use of 18 lbs BMW wheels. And eventually will go with two rotors on all four for 9 lbs each savings. The TR Motorsports wheel I run is 18" but if it was 17" in the exact same dimensions it looks like it would fit. 15's? Your going to need base CTS brakes! :)

i think criteria for being played out means it has been done before, prostars (which ARE welds) on a v have certainly not been done before.. but heck no i'm not gonna do it.

They look like ass on every Mulletmobile F-Body, Rustang and every other ride that runs them, and yes I know Prostars are Welds, but I also mean the other shitty looking ones with hole pattern too. :barf:

Anyone want to make up a parts list for the 5 lug conversion. Either the base CTS hub or the C5 setup. A ballpark price would be nice :)

Are those the standard C5 hubs and Z06 rotors Norm?

Thanks Norm for all the info. It's looking like right around $1200 to swap over to 5 lug plus the cost of new wheels. The good thing is that there is such a larger market for Z06 parts (wheels, brake rotors) it's easier to find good prices. I even saw a few sets of 2 piece rotors which would be a nice upgrade if one was going to go through all this trouble anyway. Does anyone know if the Z06 offset on the stock wheel will fit on the V? I mean, it would be a Z06 wheel over a Z06 rotor and on a Z06 hub. Not sure if it could clear the fender though.

I noticed you Norm went with BMW wheels? Was that because they were lighter and easy to be had?

Agreed, i think Prostars might look kinda nasty :) with skinnys lol but CCW classics with the skinnys up front might do? CTS hub is 5x114.3 then if its a mustang pattern.

NORM you should pull off that procharger and ship it to me already!

so what is the best way to get a smaller diameter rim on the back only. I want to run either a 15" or 16" rim on the rear only with a drag radial. i also agree that i does not look good, but I need the most grip possible with this kind of power.

Either lose the rear brakes while you are at the strip..or swap to stock CTS brakes while you are there.
