I'm planning on black chroming my CTS Scripts (Rear and 2 sides). The guys that smoked my tail lights said they would do it for $50. Just need to know if y'all think that is a good price. Also, how difficult would it be to remove the scripts?

Use a hair dryer PJ and heat up the adhesive and pull them off. You will more than likey ruin the foam. 3M make an excellent product called "Emblem Adhesive" and it comes in a tube. I've used and it's good stuff.

$50 sounds high. What's he using? I imagine paint and not actual plating. The NiteShade is a tinted paint and might work as a DIY. About $10/can.

Personally, I'd buy three new emblems and have them done. They're only about $5 to $9 each. My car came with gold emblems. When I went to remove the 'CTS' badge, it snapped in three pieces. The letters are only connected by about 1/8" of metal.

That sounds like a real efficient idea!

Maybe fuse the ideas with Ody and buy and paint new ones that way you have fresh OEM adhesive.

Don't know yet....He said it's a 2-day job. I am shopping around though and will ask the guy who did my cadi logos on my wheels about black chroming since he also did his own..I just can't find his number

Speaking of Caddy scripts... I just stuck on my new one on the Driver's side door.

ARGH...!

It slopes up a little bit.

I'm pretty upset... I don't know how I did that!

But it's not bad enough to remove it!

I would imagine it would split. It's very very fragile.

I guess I'll leave it...!
