What gives? I just got a recall notice, now the fourth in a year and a half on my 2013 ATS with turbo/four wheel drive. This one is the most serious: "We have learned that your 2013 model year Cadillac ATS may have a condition in which piston damage could occur due to an engine pre-ignition condition. If this condition occurs, the vehicle may perform poorly and oil consumption could increase. A warning light may illuminate indicating an engine misfire. If this repair is not completed before multiple pre-ignition events occur, the piston may be damaged and the engine may need to be rebuilt or replaced." Ha? 4th recall in a year and a half, and this one looks rather serious. Anyone have this "condition"? Anyone take theirs in yet for this service? Love the car, terrific ride, but beginning to worry a bit. Dragan

all cars get recalled, multiple times. just the way it is. nothing is perfect and with everyone sue crazy and bitchy they have to go overboard. for example, the absurd recall on the camaro switchblade key, which I refuse to have done!

Hello all,

It is very understandable to see how recall concerns could be frustrating. Also, we want to ensure that your vehicle is operating as expected. Please send us a PM if you would like assistance with taking care of this situation. In addition, I will need your full name, VIN, mileage, phone number, and the name of your preferred dealership to better assist you. Enjoy the rest of your day and have an excellent weekend.

Sincerely,

Brandon M.

That's funny. My wife and I have a '10 SS. We finally bit the bullet and had the key recall done. We didn't want to but I said we should if we decide the sell it. The new key looks really dumb. It's too bad GM is running scared these days. They're afraid of a lawsuit.

I couldnt hit the key with my knee no matter how hard I tried. I like the switchblade and dont want the dumb replacement, so I do not think I will ever get it done. I might order a 2nd backup key like that so I dont worry when I sell the car,if I ever sell it. Love that car!

I know what you mean, but I'm curios as to what the a Alpha-based Camaro is going to be like. We may want to swap the '10 for a '16. ?

Does the recall expire? If not just get it done before you sell.
Not sure, but the dealer was getting tired of holding onto the replacement keys. Seems as though I asked for them when I got the notice and didn't realize what was involved.
