4 inch Total Drop All The Way Around

Has anyone done a 4inch drop? Or am I crazy....

I got the sway bars done and what a huge difference! Now Im looking to get the springs done. I like the 2-3 drop from mcgaughys but Id still like to change the stock front springs to get rid of the nose dive.

I got the 2in drop spindles and now Im just trying to decide on springs.

SpringTech sells 2 in front & 4inch rear drop coils, bt I cant seem to find anyone else with 2 & 4 inch coils.

Any ideas? Will I run into any problems dropping 4 inches?

Thanks!

springtech will sell you any spring combination you want. I was going to get a 1" spring from them but my local drop shop got me 1" drop belltech spring for me.
I was under the truck the other day and looking at the front diff angle to the wheels. Looks like there is little "upwards" angle. If you were to lower the truck 2 inches in the front, it would level that out.... which I think should translate to less joint wear. The most I would go is 2" front and 3" rear. 4" would give excessive wear BUT would look CLEAN!

Italiano, who did you have do your sway bars? Who are you considering doing your spindle/springs. I'm anal about others working on my truck so haven't done the 2/3 drop yet.

Yes, one thing Im concerned about is the wear for warranty purposes. I dont want to initiate any problems I dont have to. Maybe 3in front & 4in back would be better?

Ultimately, Im just looking for a little firmer spring rate, to loose a little of the nose dive.

I had out local Midas shop do it. Ive taken my vehicles in the past there for exhaust and suspension work. I knew one of the managers, so he use to hook it up after hours, but he moved so I got to deal with someone else. I wouldnt say I trust them 100% but as long as I get back before they do a test beat run, I feel pretty comfortable. Always look over your vehicle before you drop off. You never know, anything can happen.
Hey, ive been thinking of getting a drop kit..any way you post some pics of your ride?
fyi. Just visited the stealership for some warranty issue. I asked about lowering and putting 24s on my ext. He said if you do ANY modification that adds excessive wear, specific parts will not be covered under your warranty. So tranny, transfer, diff, shocks, etc is no longer covered by lowering and running 24s. Now swapping out to 18s or 22s before taking it in is easy. BUT a 4inch drop would be very noticeable.

Good Point! Thanks!
Well I decided to to do the belltech 4 in drop kit but the company I had install it left the rear up a an inch or two higher than I think I wanted. They told me I can just take the wheels off and adjust the links to lower it. I guess that part is pretty easy?

It rides nice, much better than I expected. Still smooth and no nose dive on hard breaking.

Ill try to get some better pics up later.

post pics of the whole truck
Looks hot...need more pics. I'm going (Kelderman) air-ride myself, the roads around here (New England) are brutal and I'm towing in the upper end of capacity so fixed drop lowering kits are a no-go for me.
