I am think of buying a 92 Eldorado and would like to know what it is? 87 or 91? Also are the trannies good on these cars? TIA

they require premium. They have no knock sensor to retard the timing, so it would be wise to run the good stuff..... you may be able to get away with mid-grade if you don't hear any pinging, but for the slight differnce between the 2, just go with the better.

The tranny is the 4T60E electronically controlled..... I know my '93 DeVille came with a tranny cooler stock, that is a very good thing.... I would say they are pretty good... they are 4 speed.

I always use the best in my 92 Eldo..and my tranny has been great thus far. ;)

You didnt buy a cadillac to cheap out on crappy gas..... Put in the best money can buy!!!!

The trannies <WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE> can last easily the life of the car..... GM makes some of the best and longest lasting trannys around!

I agree, but I think the tranny on my 70 Plymouth in high school was the toughest! It clunked, and rattled, the windows leaked, and you could never get the mud out from the doors! That car would not DIE!!!
