The Northstar water pump tensioner is obsolete.

Any one who knows how to convert newer to older?

And which type is the most longlasting?

No water pump belt tensioner or tensioner pulley listed in RockAuto for 1993 - 1994 Seville. "Discontinued" in GMPartsGiant.

As far as "long lasting" goes, it varies. My original bearing went at 56,000 miles and there are some in these threads that have over 120,000.

EDIT: A picture or two of the early water pump belt tensioner on and off the engine would help. If the pulley is retained by the same shoulder bolt arrangement then a new pulley should swap onto an older tensioner - if the tensioner spring is still any good - strong and tight.

The 89145 is the Gates replacement pulley number for the later Northstar water pump tensioner.

Pulley is normally OK and has a bearing which can be swappes - but if spring goes bad,
you need to do a conversion from the newer model - has anyone tried or have both and can check up
