I just go there....I know I have a lot to read to figure this out.

But I have the option to buy a 500 from a 76 Eldorado.

Would that engine fit into a 1984 Fleetwood Brougham?
It currently has the original HT4100 that has a blown head gasket and I don't know what else wrong with it.

But if the 500 would fit in there....I would not mind getting rid of the HT4100.

Your thoughts?

....I'll be over here reading and looking for a post that likely already answers this...

As far as the 500 swap I think you're out of luck.
Wow, shutting him down right out of the gate! :p

Being the the frame and basic layout of the car was pretty much unchanged from 77-96, and the outside dimensions of the 425 and 6.0 that were used in these is the same as the 500, it's not so much a question of if it fits, but hooking it up in general, as Apeman has said previously.

I think the main issue is if you live in an emissions testing area, and also figuring out what to do with fuel management.

If you need emissions tests, then it's gonna be a hard sell, as a 500 is going to put out a lot more smog than a fuel injected HT4100, and some states frown upon putting an engine older the the cars model year into it.

If you are not in an area that requires that, then do whatever works!

Hey man, your response is what I’ve been looking for. I just now created an account and have been searching for this topic. So, I have a 76 eldorado 500 and would like to install this 350sb I have sitting around from a 95 Yukon (efi). Can you please confirm that this is possible? Any tips on install? Would you happen to know of any videos videos that can help?
