I am rebuilding a 62 390 and want to dyno it when I am done to break in the engine to tune the carb and dial in the dist timing curve. My question is, since the stock ring gear is on the convertor can a flywheel for a 472/500 be bolted on (will it fit) and without balance problems?
Thanks for any input on this.

I don't believe the 472 flywheel will fit. You may have to attach a working transmission to this engine for dyno tuning.

Thanks, but engine dynos are not set up to accomidate or be driven of a transmission. They have abell housing type rear mount and are driven off the crankshaft via a manual trans type flywheel. Problem I have is the 62 390 wasn't available with a manual trans that I can tell, so I am looking to adapt something else for test purposes.
