I am looking at replacing my rotors/brake pads, but see that there are two options for my '08 3.6L base model CTS when it comes to rotor diameters for the front. I see both a 316mm (12.44 in) and a 345mm (13.58 in) option. Now, it is my belief that since I have the base model I'll need the smaller rotors (12.44 in). I'm a little lazy and don't want to go out to measure them so I was hoping someone here would be able to confirm my belief that I need the 12.44" rotors.

Thanks.

Yep,
FE1 (base) and FE2 suspension packages include 12.4-inch rotors with aluminum calipers.
FE3 is 13.6-inch rotors with cast iron calipers.

Mine were black too. Until I finally found some ceramic type brake pads that fit the J55 brakes. Pep Boys store brand. Only one I could find. It's nice not having to wash wheels more than the car.

I switched to Redstuff ceramic pads a while back. A little less black, but not nearly as much as I had hoped for. Should have tried the PepBoys I guess.
