$2800 for V front bumper conversion??

I talked to my dealer and sent the list of parts as well as the write-up for the V bumper conversion. they quoted me $2800. That seems really high. The labor (including paint) only came to like $300. they some how added the parts up to the remaining $2500.

does that seem right?

Hell, for $2800, I'll trade in my CTS on a same year V. LOL

What am I missing here?

You could damn near buy a front clip for that much money.
Way to much...top and bottom grill are about $200...the bumpe is a little over $300....fogs were about $200..that's $900 in parts and labor is about
right $300...I paid about $1200 for mine...check out Brasington Cadillac
in Gainesville Fl they have an Internet parts sales dept...www.gparts.com
I know everyone on the forum likes Lindsay Caddy but they haven't beaten
the prices these guys have given me...and I've bought the rear OEM spoiler aswell as the rocker panels from them...

Good luck on the conversion...well worth it my friend...
Thanks, I'll check that out.

I just went to GMpartsdirect.com about 5 minutes ago to compare the price and the parts came out to $1400 (minus the fogs as they don't come up on the site anymore). Plus this didn't include labor or paint.
check out gparts.com.....the parts a little more expensive but the
shipping is cheaper...plus you can call them directly and speak with
a sales rep...I disliked the whole net thing with gmpartsdirect...
I need to talk to a salesman and make sure everything went smoothly..
I'd advise you to take a look at the STS clear fogs instead of the CTS-V
amber fogs...had I noticed then I would have bought those...price
is comparable...I don't have a list of the parts...I got mine from
cadillacfaq.com
Anyone happen to have the STS-V fog light part numbers?
G
I just did a thread like this on Wednesday...my guy quoted $2200.00 parts and labor.

Pretty amazing the discrepancies.

I did a search and couldn't find any other recent thread, no idea how I missed it.

What did you decide to do?
I paid way less but I got hooked up with the labor and paint...i saved money on the fogs because they custom fitted my stock ones on the V bumper...the bottom grill i couldn't get hooked up on...i paid 250 i think...2800 is waaaaay too much...gimme 2000 and ill sell u my setup LOL...with WW clear fogs...
thats about right.. they quoted me the same thing

They're likely using 'list' price for the parts, with no discounts. If you buy all of the parts yourself, and get a body shop to paint and install them, you can do the side skirts AND rear V bumper for cheaper than that price.

Incidentally, I paid about $2200 total for my conversion, painted and installed, but I also had them do the V side skirts, and paint the stock grill. If you shop around for used or discounted new parts, and get a body shop, you should be able to easily cut $1200 to $1500 off of their quote.
