My favorite inventory manager at my local Cadillac dealer (in Long Beach, California) has been monitoring the availability schedule for the 2025 Optiq. She phoned yesterday saying that today (9/12/2025) is when the ordering system opened for her. So we just met and configured a 2025 Optiq Luxury Level 3 (1SE), Argent Silver Metallic, Sky Cool Gray. The estimated build date is 10/12/2025-10/24/2025, with a probable delivery of just before Christmas. Woohoo!!

Congratulations!

You can get status codes from your dealer.

These codes 1000, 1100, 2000, 3000, 3300, 3400, 3800, 4000, 4200 and 5000 are milestones as your vehicle makes it's way through the process.

1000 Order Request Accepted by GM
1100 Preliminary Order Accepted
2000 (Placed Order) Accepted by GM
3000 Accepted by Production Control
3300 Scheduled for Production
3400 Broadcast (TPW Target Production Week)
3800 Produced (VIN is available)
4000 Available to Ship
4200 Shipped
5000 Delivered to Dealer

I went in with a spreadsheet made from the online order guide and reported pricing so they would have the exact RPO codes I wanted.

My wife laughed at the color and said, “So they called it Silver Silver? Do they know argent is French for silver?”

So now everything about the car has to be said in a Monty Python ridiculous French accent. 😀

FYI, when we configured the order, the inventory manager showed be a notice from Cadillac stating that the 19.2 kW charging module was a late availability option that would probably delay delivery. We didn't want this option anyway. Hope that's not the case for you.

“Bi-directional” is kind of a loaded term. You can buy tens of thousands of dollars worth of GM Energy equipment to tap into your vehicle’s battery (that’s compatible with lots of variations of EV trims, without any special charging package), but to use the Power Bar 3 kW capability (to plug anything you want into your car) you need the extra inverter that comes embedded in the 19.2 kW charging package.

I am curious about how many members of this forum have put money down and done a build on this car. I see only two besides mine and ironically one appears to be from the same dealership as mine. That does not seem like an overwhelming response when compared to the Solterra forum that two days after the build date opened had a spreadsheet with over two hundred orders naming, model, dealer and price of build. As my 5th EV I love the car especially the ability for it to power several appliances in my home. I lose power often where I live and my current car powers my home in outages. Looking for an upgrade over that but just wondering what the real interest is out there.

Yeah, agreed. I reserved a Mach-E on the day reservations opened and the forums were crazy filled! Similar with the Blazer EV, although not quite as crazy in the forums. I think a lot of it has to do with the marketing (or lack thereof) of the Optiq. Not much hype at all. Both the Mach-E and Blazer had HUGE press events and advertised reservation books. We barely get any action on the forum so far.

Hey thanks! I’m excited about this new Caddy as well! I think I’m going to wait, I want to see my
color combos in person first, and maybe, just maybe there could be a “used one” with a couple thousand miles, or not. I bought a used 2023 EQB with lo mi. for $20k off MSRP last year. I know, “I’m dreaming” and am envious you get to experience this work of art sooner.

I would take it with grain of salt. Looking at the MY25 Chevy Equinox EV which is produced at the same Ramos Arizpe factory and essentially being mostly identical to Optiq, it started Production since Aug 26, 2024 and today you can find most dealers have many of them on lot already. So this is less than a 2-month of waiting.

Optiq entered kicked off its production on Oct 14. So I would expect some larger regional dealer will have them in early December, if not late November. The only thing is that holiday season and winter weather may affect transportation.

I hope your prediction is correct. My dealer did caution, however, that the vehicle might have more than the normal miles on it at time of purchase (our last Cadillac had six) because the early production vehicles will be extensively tested and evaluated prior to shipment. I surmise Cadillac is trying to avoid production issue like the Lyriq had.
