The brake issue has been fixed. The dealer will install new, higher quality pads. According to my dealer, GM installed "cheap" pads. Upon installation of the "better" pads the problem was solved.
The dimming issue on the back up camera STILL hasn't been fixed. I have an XT6 the has the same problem, ie, backing outta the garage the sensor doesn't sense light rendering the screen dark and the backup camera ineffective. Back to the dealer who says GM knows this but apparently there seems to be no current fix. I have had 4 previous XT5's and this was not an issue...it is in 2022 for sure.
