Less than 10 months old, nanny was driving baby back from day care, all brake lights went on. Instructed to drive under 43mph. Complete brake failure. Somehow she got home. I decided to drive to the dealership because it said I could drive upto 43mph but it was not at all driveable. Glad we are all safe. Dealer says entire brake assembly needs to be replaced. No parts in stock and no ETA. My first American Car purchase, I was excited with the build quality but now I am not so sure. I do have lemon law rights to get my money back in my state but I just want it fixed because I love the car. Anyone has any experience in how to navigate? Dealer gave me an old beat up XT4 with 60k miles on it and Im stuck. Thanks for your advice.

Were the actual brakes inoperable or was it just the brake lights?

I don't think this would qualify for lemon law. Dealer is allowed 2 repair attempts on the same safety issue before they are required to buy it back. At least in most states.

Brakes inoperable. For safety related issues, dealer is allowed 1 attempt for 30 days to repair. im not as concerned about lemon law because I want to get the car back but theyre saying they have no ETA and no way of getting an ETA for the brake assembly. Theyre just sitting on the car and its not drivable. My post was to find out if anyone else has had this issue. Its a brand new car.

This is a common problem in the industry right now. It is not just Cadillac with these issues. I have been turning wrenches for a living for 34 years and we are having problems getting parts for just about every thing. I have customers waiting months on parts right now and there is nothing we can do about it. The worlds supply lines are just screwed right now. If you have to have your car now a used part is about your only choice if you can find one. However the dealer will not do a warranty repair using a used part.
