HI, my first post on this site (except for intro) Picked up may new XT5 , only have less than 100 km on it , I have noticed several area's with dirt in the paint, I am surprised that the factory let it go thru , but even more surprised that the dealership ceramic coated it and did not say a word ! Has anyone else had problems with paint work on new vehicles ? I am very leery about have them re paint etc, as it may show in years to come ?? other wise seems like a nice RIDE ! & posting a Pic of my other ride (just a toy).

Never heard of dirt in the paint...very odd indeed!
If you have a good dealership that has a body shop I would not worry about having therm repaint it (could just be the clear coat). My '19 XTS had some clear coat damage on the hood, and the dealership did a great job in re-doing it (entire hood). The warranty manual says that there may have been damage incurred during shipping or sitting in the dealer's lot, which can be fixed under warranty (I think within a two year window from purchase).

Enjoy your new ride!

So far we have found 11 spots where there is dirt in the paint, some only visable in sunshine, passenger side rear is the worst followed by the rear roof and the D/S front fender has one spot ! I am seriously considering what action I should take, it should have never left the factory like this and then the dealership lets it go also ! They are now closed till the C19 is over with , so I cannot even talk to anyone about it ! yet there weeks are ticking by !

Wow, that is really weird.
Is there another dealer you can take it to - that you would consider good? If so I would take it there. If not, you could call up Cadillac customer care - number is in the manual.

I went off GM for quite a while after I had a Buick fiasco, had 300 Chrysler for a few years , figured I'd head back to GM, not happy so far & I'm only 75 Kms into it ! LOL,
BTW~ its not that I dont have any faith in the dealer, they are closed, and have said they will take care of it no matter what it is, I just wanna know why no one noticed it , or were they so interested in getting it on the road they didnt care ?? ,

I don't think they would even have thought to inspect the paint...who would of thought. I guess you can actually see dirt in the paint or is it just rough...wondering if someone missed some sanding of clear coat? I have to say that GM and esp. Cadillac paint jobs are the finest and toughest ones I've seen. Yours is a highly unusual one, or others would be on here about it.
Good to hear about your dealer.

There is dirt (dust) in the paint, there is a fish eye, ! as mentioned 11 spots, I'm going to put it under some fluorescents and that will tell the true story ! those light show everything !
