Hi guys,
I don't know if I am missing something or what... but I don't see the sport trim offered anymore.
Is that true??
I can't tell you how happy I am with our sport trim!
Same mesh grille as the V; same rear; same ground effects kit; same wheels (I think), but it's a 3.0TT with Super Cruise, versus the Blackwing without.

Is the Sport Trim really finished????

I am not a fan of the new models offered for 2020. Very restrictive. Basically no options for any model except exterior and interior colors, and some options for 20" wheels. Luxury and Luxury Premium 3.6 only, with AWD, and Platinum Blackwing only. No Sport. No RWD. No engine choice between inadequate for the weight 3.6 and the overkill of the V-8. Massage seats only available on the Platinum, which looks like it will cost over $90k with the V-8; it's also the only way to get the rear entertainment package.

This is very different from the offerings for the XT4, where almost everything is available individually or in small packages. Currently my loaner is a nice white XT4 Sport with the luxury of massaging seats for a list of $51k, something you can't get on a luxury Premium CT6 at an estimated $75-80k (with now standard Super Cruise and Panaray). Something is just not right about that. I will miss the Sport model; saw a '19 and it was gorgeous. I will miss the RWD 2.0; it was a decent performer due to the light weight and purity of RWD, along with outstanding economy for it's class. I think the TTV6 will be missed; not everyone needs 500+ horsepower, nor wants to feed it. I know the CT6 doesn't sell well here, but restricting the choices like they did will not make it more attractive to the typical luxury buyer, unless they really drop the price a lot. We shall see.

I'm not sure how "V" the V will be. It's only got Brembos on the front, just 245s all around, and an unspecified "sport" suspension, but tons of power. The seats lack lateral support, too, as they are no different than the other CT6 seats. It sounds like an over-powered V-Sport to me. But it will look good, as it will look like the '19 Sport. Very restrictive on color choices, too, and only the Black Raven is no charge; Radiant silver isn't available for this model. For the price, I think they should have done more.

This strategy is similar to the Genesis G90. In the Genesis G90 case there are only two choices...the TTV6 or the V8. The V8 comes loaded with a few extra goodies like the rear seat entertainment package. Other than color selection there are no other choices for either although both versions are pretty much fully loaded.

BTW...The Genesis G90 interior is absolutely gorgeous....very nicely done, open grain wood features, wonderful seats. My opinion is that the interior beats everything else including the Mercedes S-Class. Fit and finish is very good as well. Will Cadillac ever deliver on that?

That said, the CT6 is more advanced technology-wise and in my opinion has an exterior styling that beats everything else.....those were the two factors for my choice of ride.

I have to agree... I sat in the G90 (there was a dealership IN a local shopping mall).

The wood; the chrome controls.. it reminded me of sitting my grandfather's Cadillacs back in the 70s! The way a luxury car should be. Gorgeous!

I love the exterior of my CT-6 Sport to pieces, but inside... It is truly reminiscent of my Mom's 1997 Grand Am. Pontiac parts bin, as they say?

I just cannot believe they aren't making the Sport anymore. I am so happy that I opted for this 2019 sport! :)

Nicest grille and front-end I have seen in years!

The 3.0TT is quite the power plant. The Blackwing is going to be crazy!

It looks to me that the V and the Platinum differ only slightly mechanically. They both have the same engine (LTA) and transmission (MHW) but the suspension package is FE3 (V) and FE2 (P.) The V get Summer-only Z-rated tires while the P gets all-season, The P gets the cool rear seat package so you can sit on reclining, massaging seats while watching Sponge Bob. The question is: how much HP/TQ? I'm betting its 500 bhp and 550 lb/ft.
The V nomenclature has been emasculated; it is no more than a Performance/Sport or at best a V Sport but it is going to be a very cool car nonetheless.
The V to buy if you want tire shredding performance will be the smaller, lighter CT5-V with the 550HP/640TQ version of the Blackwing.

They had already done away with the 2.0 and RWD options sometime during the 2019 model year. The one option I would love to see them offer as either stand-alone, or included in the Luxury and/or Premium Luxury trims is Adaptive Cruise. I really don't need SmartCruise, and don't want to pay $6,000 for the package of which it is part.
