As with the XT4/XT5, price might start low/reasonable, but if anyone likes options, the price with climb.

From the articles, it's not clear if the 2.0T is the same Cadillac has been using or the weaker 2.0T that went in
the XT4 and I think 2019 CT6.

I was waiting for this car hoping to trade my ATS in 2020 or 2021 for this but not with that profile. Front and rear are nice but looking at that rear window and c-pillar and I'm out. Kind of loks like an old Maxima. Also, I hope they didn't copy the MB C-class mouse thing for the infotainment system. I could not hate more that thing. I swear I'd rather have CUE. If CT4 is smaller than the ATS, then it's a no-no also; even if it looks better.

I was waiting for it too. It's feminine, ugly, wimpy and an amalgamation of other brand's lesser design cues.

I too am out..

It's the extra foot or two of length.

ATS and CT4 have the same greenhouse, so I doubt they changed the wheelbase. The MSRP will probably be close to what people were paying after discounts, but the lease terms are more important.

I was waiting for this to come out, but i am disappointed, i thought i was going to look like escalla. What's with the rear end and low out put 2.0. Not really excited any more. Ill keep my 2k Eldo, maybe look at ct 6 if they fixed the trans.

They went to the "4 door coupe" roofline, and ditched the traditional sedan profile. Doing this has really cheapened it, and it reminds me of those hideous Gran Turismo models from BMW. A traditional sedan roofline makes for a far more stately car with some presence.

That kink in the C-pillar chrome molding looks like the uglyness Infiniti is currently known for.

That is faux/filled in plastic mesh in the front which is really chintzy, like what you see on the Civic Type-R.

And they changed to horizontal headlight housings instead of the vertical ones like the 3rdgen CTS has, which makes the car blend in more with everyone else. Should have kept hte vertical headlight housing, there was more to explore there I think. RIP Art & Science design language.

Probably no manual offering either.

I was super excited about this car but it is a huge letdown so far. Trying to wait to see one in person but hard to ignore how elegant and sporty the ATS/CTS looked, then they do this.

Ct 5 looks short and stubby compared to concept . Change C pillar to look like Escalla and it might save this thing . Looks like a good car to go get grocery's or take the kids to the doctor, it won't impress any one at the "club" or a special event . I looks just like every thing else , possibly built with the foreign market in mind .
I saw a pic of the 2 door version , if there will be one and it didn't look bad ,

CT4/CT5 = Q50/Q70. Hooray....now that we look like everyone else will you love us? Please love us? Sheeesh....

Should have flipped everyone the bird, and built something [email protected] American like the Elmiraj or Ciel.

Even the Escala looks like a warmed over Audi A7.

Hmmmm Cadillacs that look like Audi’s and Infiniti’s, wonder how that happened?

Agree. If you have good technology, which Cadillac does now a days, you CAN dare do be different. But Cadillac/GM stopped daring...they want to be exactly like BMW/Merc/Audi and who knows who else...and still, in spite of that, they WILL be left at the altar.

Ironically, I think the true Cadillac buyers actually want something that looks different and separates them from “the herd”

Totally agree. I just traded my ATS Memorial Day. I LOVED the styling and handling. I also liked driving a car that wasn't common on the road. In my area there are many luxury cars, CT6's, CTS's and ATS's stood out and were cool anti-mainstream rides.

My ATS developed the dreaded and incredibly widespread unfixable torque converter shudder so it had to go. I was holding on to it with the intention to trade it in on a CT5, then I saw the official pictures and find the car unremarkable in the extreme, it doesn't even look like a Cadillac to me. It has no cachet, it has no presence.

I like the CT6 and would have bought one but it also has pervasive transmission problems (that Cadillac also refuses to admit).

So, back to the Germans I went. Cadillac expended vast resources to acquire conquest customers like myself, only to lose them over pedestrian design, poor dealership experiences and low quality glitch filled infotainment and mechanical designs (often with no fix available). Utter business stupidity.

I'm out.
