Going from a '15 Denali XL (6sp) to an 18' Premium ESV. I would say get the 10sp. So much smoother and better MPG. I held out for the right priced '18 after reading the horror stories on the 8 sp.
I had some of the issues you mentioned, but not as many in 80k miles with the Yukon. I have a rattle starting from the front passenger side molding at high speeds (80+). It's just a touch loose right now (20k miles). I thought the clips were changed out for 2016, but I could be wrong. I'll have it/them swapped at my next free service.
