Took my car to the dealership and they said there was excessive metal on fill plug for rear differential and noise was easily heard at 2 mph. They recommend tear down at cost of $1440.00. That’s to find out what’s wrong. 76,000 miles. Covered under extended warranty.

The differential on my '15 CTS Luxury 3.6L RWD was leaking at 37,000 miles. https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/rear-differential-oil-leak.1090379/#post-17775191. It was noted the fluid had a "gray" color and noise. Bad bearing? Excessive ring & pinion wear? $1400 to look into it??? New diff is about $1600 on a GM dealer's parts site, plus 6 hours labor to swap. Might want to do the math about what's best route. Mine was replaced under warranty.

I bought mine at 56,000 miles so I got a B2B extended warranty for 100,000 more miles so this is covered under warranty.

Never heard of such a thing. Best you check you paperwork. A B2B only comes with a new car and is NEVER for 100,000 miles.

Still not a BTB. You have an aftermarket. Hope it is exclusive and not inclusive.. Are you sure it is covered?

Turns out the rear carrier bearing came apart. It was all covered by the extended warranty from Ally saving me $3000. Even covered my car rental for a week.

yes BTB is available from many non OEM warranty company. I got a BTB when I bought my 2013 CTS it had 50,000 miles on it I a bought a 36,000 or 36 month warranty for $2,200. and the warranty company has spent over $11,000 repairing it. The warranty ended in last January and Have not had any problems since.
