I have had more issues than I would like with my 2015i Escalade purchased in mid December. I'm at my second go round in service at 2500 miles.
I have been experiencing a rough idle after the first week or so of ownership. It seems worse today then it was at 500 miles and at 1500 miles when a Dealer looked at it the first time. I was told they couldn't reproduce the issue and that since there were no codes they couldn't do anything.
I dropped it off again on Monday this week for its second OnStar module replacement as well as the idle/vibrations and went back in yesterday to go for a drive with the tech. Mind you we are now getting some random vibration noises that make me think its getting worse. Passenger door lock makes annoying vibration as well as a random noise from the steering column. It also feels worse to the wife and I then it did weeks ago.
I went for a drive with the tech and it wasn't really that noticeable until after about 15 minutes it started to do it again. The tech told me its normal for these new variable timed engines as they are continuously trying to adjust the timing. I wasn't crazy about that answer and when we got back to the Dealership while we were talking some more sitting still is started to get worse where he could easily feel it in the passenger seat. He again said that was normal "unless" it did that continuously for a bit. Since its only happening for a second or two and then goes away for 5 or 10 seconds before coming back he is saying its normal and nothing is wrong.
I am going to stop by a different Dealer this week and test drive another Escalade or two and see if they have any similar issue before I decide my coarse of action, but wanted to know from an official Cadillac Rep if a brand new 90k Escalade should have a smooth idle or if it should have a random miss/vibration caused by the variable timing as I was told when parked or sitting at a red light. You can watch the rpm needle move around between 500-600rpms while this is happening.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question,
Don
