I bought some seat covers for my 2015 SRX. To install the from covers requires removal of the front headrest. The headrest moves up and down but I can find no way of releasing the headrest to install the seat cover. Would appreciate any help on this topic.

Don't put seat covers on the front seats. They'll obstruct the side torso airbags and may also prevent the passenger sensing system from operating correctly. From page 3-30 of the manual:

We recommend that you
not use seat covers or other
aftermarket equipment except when
approved by GM for your specific
vehicle.
You can remove the rear head restraints (which is great for visibility when no one is sitting there), but you'll need to lean the seat forward first. Otherwise, the restraint hits the ceiling before you can raise it high enough to remove it.
