My wife called me in a panic on Friday and said she was sitting at a red light with a car in front of her. The light went green and the car in front of her pulled off. She went to press the gas and the car quickly jolted HARD. She said she thought the guy behind her hit her. She went to push the gas and the car still wouldn't move. She put the car in Park and jumped out to ask the guy behind her if he hit her and there was no damage so she got back in the car put it in drive and it actually moved this way. we took it immediately to the dealership for their review and haven't heard anything back from them yet. She said that in the mornings when she pulls out of the garage and does her three point turn it seems like the car stops abruptly like it is afraid she is going to hit something. We told the dealership about this as well.

Anyone else see anything else like this?

Thanks,

Neil

What year model? 2015/2015i? 6 or 8 speed.

If you bought it in December, then you got the 2015i.

It might be something up with the transmission. There has been some joltiness going on with a couple.

Good morning heffneil,

I’m very sorry that your wife experienced such a concerning event and I am glad to see that you are working with your dealership to address this situation. If you would like an additional layer of assistance while your dealership looks to resolve this issue, please send a PM my way with your VIN, mileage, dealership name, and personal contact information.

Enjoy your day,

Try to test it in an open road or test track. Accelerate from 0-60 mph while stomping the gas pedal. I'm sure you will be surprised how fast it goes to 60 mph. Now, do the same thing from 0mph, press on the gas then as you are moving, release the gas before it shifts to 2nd gear. I'll bet you will feel the clunk as the tranny shifts from a very high 1st gear ratio and drops to almost half the gear ratio of 2nd.

Please let us know if your dealer figures it out. My car does this when sitting in drive now and again. It feels like your being rear-ended, and it's pretty startling. Brought it to the attention of service and they ignored my inquiry.

----------

Also, the Rear Auto Breaking is pretty sensitive. When I back out of my garage my car goes bonkers over shadows. The car has slammed on the brakes over things that could easily drive over.

@Heffneil I wouldn't trust the Austin above, he'll ditch you in a heartbeat as soon as its an issue, take a look @ the other thread by Z its 17 pages about taking it into service, he's going to the media about the situation because cadillac abandoned him. The Cadillac Customer Svc account appears to only pretend to care by writing out pre drafted msgs, then will stop responding afterwards. Then after you do all the work and state so in the thread they'll revive and response w/ another automated msg stating their happiness ( without them ever having done anything ) IF you're able to figure out the mess on your own.

@Cadillac Customer Service

How about doing your damn job and assisting Z in his 17 page thread about the poor dealership service? Don't be a selective happy nut and pretend you give a crap when you're just abandoning people. Poor Service, and a really crappy attitude your fronting for your company.

Like I posted in the other thread, the OP is from Canada. CS is from USA. So I don't think he will be of help.

Trolling would be posting hateful things, derailing a topic with something that has nothing to do with it, or doing my best to harass someone. In this case none of above have been done. This is an issue we're actively discussing, and with regards to the person above they've done little to justify their screen name, which we're pointing out. There is enough proof on the threads. This is something that many of us are concerned/angered by, if you would like a full write up and explaining I can provide one if you have not seen the other thread, I will refrain from posting further in this thread though, however it sickens me to see their business act this way.

They're the same damn Entity, so that matters not, they can assist with pulling in the central HQ, to just jump in a thread and abandon it without word leaves an incredibly negative Message. Cadillac = Cadillac, noone gives a damn about location, people HAVE contacts, he's Customer Service, NOT Customer SVC USA, meaning if he's attempting to assist, then by all means do his god damn job, and provide contact info for the proper area, not shun it off like " ha! not my problem buddy! Sucks to be you! "

BUSINESS PRINCIPLE!

Hello Kimpton,

I know it’s frustrating to have an issue like this go unaddressed by service and I deeply apologize if you felt that you were ignored. If you’d like to try working with the dealership on this sudden jerk issue, please send me a PM and we can discuss the situation and your options going forward.

Best regards,

Are you a Cadillac Escalade owner? Specifically a 2015 escalade owner? How do you like the rating by motor trend against the competition? It's the best SUV for the money compared to the likes of FFRR, Q80, LX 570, GL450, etc?

I have no issues with any of this....however, I DO have to say that when I see a response from "Cadillac Customer Service"....as I read it , the sounds of the voice from HAL the computer in "2001 A Space Odessey " seem to be constantly reverberating in my mind!

Wow this became a lot about nothing related to my car! The dealership was trying to blame my Escort 9500CI radar detector and they can't replicate. The radar detector can't make a difference - at least I don't think. Heck when I called to ask if this car had the ability to stop the car from an impending accident they didn't know?!

I put a call in to the service manager this afternoon. I know I wouldn't be comfortable driving this car and my wife certainly isn't any more comfortable. I really don't want it back unless they change some part. At this point I almost don't care what part it is but to give me the car back as is doesn't seem safe or responsible.

Remember it has both front and rear automatic braking.

Do you have Driver Assist? Sounds like it.

If Yes...

It doesn’t work under all conditions, so you might want to review the manual. I nearly took out a cab changing lanes @ low speed. Where did you mount the detector? Based on my experience I can see it interfering. Otherwise, I was told by service that owners have reported the car stopping for objects other than cars. I've experienced this kind of thing too. Now that I have a few miles on the car I'm changing the settings.

Sounds like your car is backing up as designed.

Overall I suspect there's interference due to software design. Particularly with the haptic tech.

The haptic screen makes the screen useably larger and the button pops up only when you need it. Genius!
