I have a 2014 XTS 4V, and am having to replace my Tranny. My mechanic I trust recommends we rebuild this one with Kevlar discs. Says it'll last longer, and shift smoother. I regularly smoke Mopar cars on the highway and off the line. What think you all? What would you do if this was your forever car.

I have a 2014 XTS V 4 with 105,000 miles on it. So far so good with the transmission. The version of the transmission in the Vsport models is rated for more torque than the V6 models. If I needed to re-build the transmission I would use GM parts unless they were not available. The best choice I have found on past 4L60's is the GM certa rebuilt units. They used to have an excellent warranty and I ran a couple into the ground and GM put a new one in parts and labor.

I have 2015 XTS4 with 186,000miles. There were shudders noticed with hard shifting 2-3 gear. Dealer replaced the Valve body and reprogrammed TEHCM. Shudder still exists, not worse than before but noticeable. Brought it back, test drove with tech, it appears TC is going out but tech wanted to check fluids for metal shavings and other before replacing TC. Car is at the dealer being looked at.
