The low fuel warning comes on and shortly after the fuel gauge shows empty but when I fill up the car it only takes a little less than 16 gal. The tank is supposed to hold 18.5 gal. which means I can still drive 70 miles. on empty. All my other Cadillacs I have owned where more accurate. Should I have the fuel indicating system checked?

Welcome Aboard !!! :highfive:

Let's move this from the CCC (dealership assistance and Warranty advice) up to the XTS forum. You may find that the low fuel warning is right on target - the gauge (as with all fuel level gauges) is approximate. In my STS the light comes on and the message shows at 2.5 gallons left - and my car also has an 18.5 gallon tank. I NEVER habitually run it low in daily use, but always let it hit the warning on long MD - FL runs.
