A deer killed my beloved 2014 vsport premium. I was on a business trip in Texas, and little Bambi came across, and I hit him doing 65. This deer only weighed maybe 100 lbs. I hit him square in the grill. It did nothing to either headlight. It didn't even push the hood back. However, it deployed all of the airbags except the passenger one. I was reading, and this appears to be a common issue with the 2014s. I found an article about them deploying at autocross events due to G forces. I must say I am quite disappointed in this. Without the airbags deploying the damage would have only been around $2600, with labor being the most, followed by the paint. A car I saved for, which was my dream car, is now ruined due to overzealous airbag deployment.
I am not sure why I am posting this. I am heartbroken my dream car is gone. The car was in the prime of it's shape. Ceramic-coated paint with zero flaws. New tires. I spent $400 at the dealer to replace the overflow gas shut off/overflow canister. Everything was great about this car. Insurance totaled it, and the remainder is not enough to replace it. I fault Cadillac for the sensitive airbag system. I fault the insurance companies for not keeping up with the times in terms of what is considered high mileage these days.
I am considering stepping up to a V or Blackwing but life has screwed me on this one so not sure what next. Thanks for "listening".
