I've searched, but haven't found what I am looking for. Is there any info that might be leaked/speculated that the 2014 version will finally ditch the live rear axel in favor of IRS?
Well that is disappointing. I guess there will not be a way to have a true fold flat third row then. That is one of the issues with a live rear axel as there needs to be enough room for the pumpkin on suspension compression.the current design is here to stay![]()
I think you're right. Really to bad as its been one of the most useful SUVs I've ever owned. Started with an Avalanche and currently on my second EXT.Personally I wouldn't bet on seeing a new EXT. Sales volumes just won't support it in todays market. JMHO
That's actually old information. I found newer articles when I was searching recently that say GM decided its customers would be best served by continuing the full size SUVs as they are today. I would expect to see a redesign based on what's there now. This is unfortunate, because if they really DID move to Lambda, our older trucks would then hold their value really well, as they'd be the last TRUE full size GM SUVs.According to GM Inside News, the next Escalade will be built on a modified Lambda platform released sometime in 2012 as a 2013 model. Hurry up!!!

I hear you, however they won't own the market. Especially if they don't improve on it (which they probably won't). Toyota, Lexus,Nissan, Infiniti, Landrover, and Mercedes offer full sized vehicles. Ford I hear is going to scrap the expedition and navigator after 2013.Heard the refresh will be 2012 or 2013 models and the new model full size of course will be here in 2014.
I'm beyond happy they are staying large and in charge, they will own that market if they do.
All name plates will be coming back I heard, only thing I didn't hear was avalanche.
