I've searched, but haven't found what I am looking for. Is there any info that might be leaked/speculated that the 2014 version will finally ditch the live rear axel in favor of IRS?

the current design is here to stay:)
Well that is disappointing. I guess there will not be a way to have a true fold flat third row then. That is one of the issues with a live rear axel as there needs to be enough room for the pumpkin on suspension compression.

According to GM Inside News, the next Escalade will be built on a modified Lambda platform released sometime in 2012 as a 2013 model. Hurry up!!!

Personally I wouldn't bet on seeing a new EXT. Sales volumes just won't support it in todays market. JMHO

That's actually old information. I found newer articles when I was searching recently that say GM decided its customers would be best served by continuing the full size SUVs as they are today. I would expect to see a redesign based on what's there now. This is unfortunate, because if they really DID move to Lambda, our older trucks would then hold their value really well, as they'd be the last TRUE full size GM SUVs.

Of course, GM learned from all the leaks last time to be very cagey about information on GMT1000 (or whatever it will be), so if gas continues an upward trend, the project could be delayed indefinitely, or the Lambda thing could pop up again. Either way, I've heard that the release date would be 2012 as a 2013 model. The GMT900s would be pretty damn long in the tooth by 2014! And it makes sense, because GMT800 SUVs came out in 2000 and were replaced in 2006 as '07 models. Again, fuel crises could delay the next launch...

One thing you CAN almost count on is that the Expedition and Navigator are not likely to ever be refreshed or redesigned. Ford has absolutely ZERO plans for that market.

Heard the same thing that they are supposed to maintain the full size and not shrink it to the Lambda paltform. Hope it comes out as a 13 model as my 07 has over 70k miles on it. If they delay it and dont come out with the full size design then Ill get the last large year. Even GM Inside news has no news!!! Wish I can get some kind of updated info!!!

Heard the refresh will be 2012 or 2013 models and the new model full size of course will be here in 2014.
I'm beyond happy they are staying large and in charge, they will own that market if they do.
All name plates will be coming back I heard, only thing I didn't hear was avalanche.

I hear you, however they won't own the market. Especially if they don't improve on it (which they probably won't). Toyota, Lexus,Nissan, Infiniti, Landrover, and Mercedes offer full sized vehicles. Ford I hear is going to scrap the expedition and navigator after 2013.
