Correct. i get so tired of climbing into the back of the cargo area to fold down the seats. Would be nice if they would fold flat as well.

Does anyone know if the next generation Escalade ESV will have a power folding third row seat?
My wife's dog will speak German, Japanese, & Russian and be able to teach quantum physics at Harvard before gm gives a folding 3rd row. The cost will put them out of business.

Are you able to do those things sir???

As for the Escalade, you can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all the time, but unfortunately not all the people all the time. What is an issue to some isn't for others, such as power folding/flat third row. JMHO..

As I read from various site's it's not gonna be fold flat or power up and down 3rd row.
It's gonna be just like the ones we have now.
:suspense: I wouldn't doubt it.gm knows exactly what they are doing. They can put dog crap in a bag and call it luxury and people would still buy it. They know people will buy what they are selling no matter what. We can complain all we want. Only way to get their attention is to not buy it. Then and only then will they attempt to give us features that competitors have.

^ so I take it Land Rover got you with the horse crap that you're driving around? Put a oval Land Rover symbol in and jack up the price and people like yourself will think cause it costs more it must be ultimate luxury SUV.

Every manufacturer has their problems. Not one is perfect. They are all out there for themselves. Profit is the #1 priority. They have to listen to shareholders. If they make the a solute perfect vehicle it will cost more $$$ and many customers aren't Willie to pay for it. Also what you think would be tasteful and useful in a vehicle someone else would think is useless in their eyes. I for one don't care for real fold down seats as j take the rear seats out and don't put them back till I sell the vehicle.

Last I checked GM had lost major marketshare compared to where they were years ago and Toyota has surpassed them as the worlds #1 automaker with VW in sight to bump GM to #3. Hence, GM has already lost an enormous amount of its customers through the years and your argument is wrong. The tone is they want to do things as the "new GM" and you simply have to look at what's they are producing to see that they are better then ever and IMHO GM is making the most exciting cars in the world.

Does this mean the new Escalade will get the third row folding seat ? no but let's hope so

It's amazing to me what makes people like or not like a car. My wife is a perfect example.
For about a week leading up to us purchasing our ESV, my wife was completely sold on the fact that we could NOT buy the ESV simply because of the fact that it didn't have the folding flat 3rd row.
I eventually convinced her that even though it didn't have the folding flat 3rd row like the Expedition/Navigator/etc, that it had so many other features (and much better looks) that it was still the best option and we bought it.

We eventually got past it, but some people don't. I have a neighbor that bought the newest Navigator because of the folding flat 3rd row. 100HP more and better looks didn't mean anything to her. It was about functionality.
Personally I expect Cadillac to have both.

Most owners of Escalades have families and kids as do we. It is a huge conveyance just to be able to fold that third row flat for food shopping or home depot runs. I'm no weakling and those seats are freaking heavy and bulky to take out. I would imagine many owners pulled a muscle or 2 taking them out.

I agree the Escalade style power and handling make up for it but if Mercedes, Lexus, Ford can do it..... Well you know the rest

Well the 3rd row seats fold up and stay vertical any time I have both people and shopping to schlep ... I don't think I've ever been in a situation where I've had to yank the seats out. The amount of room it takes to keep em vertical doesn't seem that prohibitive to me, but obviously others might find them more inconvenient.

True, for most store runs the fold up option is certainly fine. But , fir those Costco size loads or suitcases or 210 pound Mastiffs coming fir a ride sometimes you need more room and have to remove.

If GM were smart they would at least build them out of aluminum or something. The seats in my wife's tahoe weigh 55lbs each and the plastic handle cuts into your hand. It sucks.
I would gladly pay the extra money to have an IRs and while I am weight conscious about our vehicles I would be okay with extra weight of the IRS and the extra weight of having a fold down rear seat.
