Bought my 2013 XTS 18 months ago new from a local Cadillac dealer. I've had problems with the transmission slamming into gear when accelerating quickly onto busy roads. My dealer made adjustments about six months ago and all was acceptable, not fine just acceptable. Now the problem is much worse. Still slamming into gear but now, downshifting randomly at highway speeds. Returned the XTS to the service department today to find the car needs a transmission. $60,000, 18 months later and now I have to accept a rebuilt jacked up transmission.
What would you do?
Oh yes, I need a rental now as we are leaving in the AM to see my grandson 700 miles away in Camp Lejeune. The dealer cannot find a GM car for rent so I found a Chrysler. Seems Cadillac will not pay for anything but a GM car. The Chrysler is on me according to the dealer. I think I bought into the wrong brand.
One last, I bought my wife a SRX at the time of the XTS purchase (from the above dealer) bringing my total tab to over $110,000. I think I bought into the wrong brand.
