Ok, I'm new to the Cadillac forum as I did just purchase a 2013 Cadillac SRX Performance collection AWD a few months ago. At the time of purchase, the price was good, so I thought, and I did see that the passenger headlight was leaking water into the fixture. This was a repair I would need to fix and I was aware of the work. Now, I need to see if a few questions I have can be answered from this forum? HID lighting - I removed the front bumper cover, wells fastened to the cover and removed. I then removed the headlight assembly, what a large headlight assembly as I new the ballast and the ignitor needed replacement but only after I re-sealed the fixture with permatex silicone. I did, the new ignitor and ballast was installed and the headlight was re-assembled. As I am looking at the splash shield under the motor section that should have been fastened to the from bumper cover, I realized that someone completed this process before, I'm thinking with the OEM drivers headlamp assembly seeing that one was not leaking. Anyways, back to the passenger side, the D2S HID bulb was replaced and as well as the flasher (7440) and the 7443 bulb. Here is my issue and here is what I have been trying to locate? The front bumper cover was completely assembled with the slash shield and everything was fastened/tightens and reassembled. I am still having an issue with the passenger side side DRL, is isn''t illuminating/lighting. I am thinking to mayself as I have tried for days to search for a relay, I'm thinking that each side has a relay for the DRLs? I can't locate any information. The 2013 SRX4, is there a relay or fuse for each front DRL? I haven't located the relay or fuse as I checked in the engine fuse panel, the front passenger panel inside the vehicle but never did check the rear panel at the time as I'm thinking that would be a long run from the rear of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle to place a relay or fuse per front DRLs. Is the ballast a drive alone device for the front DRLs or is there another relay to prevent ballast damage in the case of a DRL issue?

The good news - The headlight has been dri for a week, the silicone seal for the lens to the housing around the entire headlamp assembly was a success and all the bulbs are working except for that side DRL that runs in the daytime from what I have read. Is there a hidden location where the relays may have been placed for the front DRL.

Negative, you need to know this headlight. The side drl should last a lifetime, I'm not sure if it can be replaced. It is multiple led lights. This vehicle must have designed with safety issues if any water was to enter the headlight. The headlight aline is over $1,000. So, cadillac is smart. There must be a relay for each side or a diode.

The light to the left of the housing from the top of the lamp housing to the bottom. I would think with a cadillac that they would be well protected seeing the cost on the headlight assembly. By saying we protected, a fuse, relay, diode or bcm would turn the voltage off like tripping a breaker in a breaker box?

All I know about HID's is they are extremely hot while in operation. Real hot and a little moisture doesn't seem like a good combo .I doubt that you will ever get it totally dry. The assemblies are not that difficult to change and there are some style upgrade available also. Remember GM service departments will suck your wallet dry...I have the style shown above and bought the black inside one's with LED extras inside. They were $280 a pair. Then again you have HID's. Keep in mind SRX's lights suck so almost anything you will probably purchase will be an improvement.
Have fun, seriously it's not that bad ,have fun doing it .You will like the difference.
