Not sure if this is the noise your describing....but my dealership thinks mine has a bad/worn out rubber bushing in the lower control arm.

I think I have this issue on my 2010, although I wouldn't call it a clunk, but rather sort of like a heavy bed spring sound. It's much more noticeable in cold weather. I mentioned it to my dealer's service department this morning when I had it in for the latest recall for the rear toe link, and he said he has another customer with the same thing. He said they've thrown a few parts at it (I think he said a couple of sway bar links and a lower control arm) but they've not yet been able to find the problem.

Been there, it's sway bar bushings!

 

I had a clunking sound in my 2011 SRX -4 and it was the stut bearing plates and the stabilizer link. Replaced and problem gone. Luck it was under warranty. $1300+

 

I just purchased a certified 2010 Srx performance this Jan, and when I test drive it it had this noise. They assured me they would take care of it. Said they replaced the sway bar. Now the noise is back not even a month later. They are now trying the strut mounts. This better be the right fix. Getting worried that this seems to be such a common theme in these threads without any real reassurance of the correct solution.

 

Hey there snow from what i have been reading here on CF i think this is just the start of the many issue's that you will see in the 2010 SRX sorry.

 

I have a 2011 SRX Premium and the car is headed back to the dealer for the second time for front suspension issues. The first symptom back in December, squeaking and suspension appeared to be more rigid over bumps as well. Took the car into the local dealer. The dealer replaced the front left strut and completed an alignment. Not sure how this action was determined relative to troubleshooting the problem? Since then the car is riding worse then before and the squeak still exists going slow over speed bumps and the car feels like it skips over minor bumps in the road. The ride was much smoother before this front end issue and we only have ~43k miles.
