I really would appreciate some help -
Cruise on 78 mph driving to Ft Myers, it was hitting a brick wall without stopping, i wasn’t sure what happened, i though I push a rod out the side of the engine block, similar experience but didn’t have all the bells and whistle with the airbags, that was 30 yrs ago.
Something hit the front grill of the SRX, lucky it didn’t come through the windshield- 18” of steel or bigger high the front went vertically up the hood flew over the windshield glass hit the space in between the windshield and panoramic moonroofs and then past the car, hit the front of the doing 78 mph it lock up my front seatbelt pushed me back into my seat and pinned me, couldn’t get the seatbelt unlatched forever, service airbag light came on and the car got hazy with smoke, which I am assuming it was the gas charges for the seat belts, both front belts are jammed, have insurance not sure what it will kicked the premium up too regardless that something flews out from so I have to eat the $500 deductible and I will take a rate hike in the future; trying to hold the stat responsible- talk to FHP (FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL) and went over my incident with them and they have several reports of debris in the road way, one being a ladder ad steel which was report at the mile marker 169 Northport exit which this is where there this happened
I know I pull the seat belts and send them out for service st $40-65 each, is there a gas charge or what would make the interior of the car get like a hazy some, it it possible or rather probable that the airbag went off but didn’t deploy ? Of course none of this cover the other damage, obvious if Florida isn’t paying my deductible (HAHAHA) I rather not claim it, still have the grill, chrome grill pieces, hood, rest so car, labor, paint tax and whatever else the car needs
Has anyone else done something like this -do these have gas chargers that would make the car a little Smokey / hazy if release ?
Car run perfect besides what I mentioned, don’t like driving it with a failed system, where is the ABS sensor and modules, has anyone had else had the seat belts rebuild ad the airbag sensor wiped / erased to fix the airbag system - does locking up the seat best even make the airbag seat record them data or would replaced the airbags handle that ?
Any information is appreciated- located of the airbags system would help, thought - I can live with dent in my hood and fix it later - anyone ever try to sue the department of transportation for debris ?
