For the benefit of those who haven't already heard, here they are:

Deletions

Exterior color (12U) Black Cherry
Exterior color (25U) Blue Chip
Exterior color (51U) Gold Mist
Exterior color (76U) Double Espresso
1SB PEG
1SD Platinum Edition
Platinum Edition. Now becomes part of 1SE PEG content
(PCN) Sun and Navigation Package
(PCJ) Sun and Sound Package
(CE1) Rainsense wipers
(WA3) Trunk Convenience Package
(DC5) Rear illuminated vanity mirrors

New Features

Exterior color (GGX) Tuscan Bronze ChromaFlair. Available at extra charge.
Exterior color (97U) Vanilla Latte
New Packaging (1SB deleted. 1SE is now Platinum Collection)
(PCI) Driver Awareness Package
(KTI) Tire Inflator Kit (1SA PEG)
(9L3) Spare Tire Not Desired (1SA PEG)
(QD5) Compact spare aluminum wheel (1SC PEG)
(QY4) 17" spare steel wheel (1SA, 1SD, 1SE PEGs)
(5A7) Spare wheel not desired (1SA PEG)

So the big change is that there will no longer be a Luxury based Platinum, and the Performance model will only be available as a Platinum. If you don't have the scratch for - or don't want the flash of - a Platinum, but want a Performance, you'd better pick up a 2009 while you can.

No Rainsense? RIDICULOUS!!!! Even a Mazda 3 offers rain sensing wipers as an option.

Only thing I can think of that makes sense is that Rainsense is now part of one or more of the option packages, and no longer available separately. Better yet, make it standard equipment on all 2010 DTS models.

It is already standard on the LUX lll and Performance models.
Maybe they just made it standard across the board.
I can't believe they did away with it.

Could never understand why rainsense, trunk package, electric steering wheel adjust, weren't standard on all Cadillacs. It would be like having to pay extra for electric windows in front and in back.

Surprised in the color deletion. Looks like if you want dark you have grey or black. Wasn't a blue chip fan but the expresso was quite nice...and I really like my dark cherry. Wonder what the latte is like. Caddy has always looked good in white (better with WSW's though) and there are some nice cream whites out there.....

Anyone heard about switching from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive?? My dealer told me this was going to happen in the near future.
Regrettably this is not going to happen anytime in the foreseeable future. FWD DTS for easily the next decade. The only hope otherwise is if Cadillac and GM separate ways. And that too remains a long shot.

There is a better chance of the DTS being dropped in the next few years than there is of the new model seeing the light of day. I fully understand that I am suggesting that the former standard bearer will be dropped.

There was going to be a "combination" RWD STS/DTS, but those plans are, to be polite, on hold.
Now that Cadillac has decided to start decontenting the DTS, the death march has begun IMO.
We are at the point that "what you see" is not what you get next year.
Some important deletions for 2010 and no meaningful additions named yet......
There is absolutely no reason for DTS sales to hold up.

I'll be looking to Lincoln next time out, if i am still around.....But that should be way out there. My DTS should last for a long time.

Well I should not be surprised. I purchased a new Excursion when they came out and loved it. Would have got a new one but they pulled the plug on them. Then got a new H2 Hummer when they came out and planned to get another one but they pulled the plug on them. Now the DTS seems headed for the same as the others. Seems with all that is going on it is not as much fun as it once was in the automotive world.

I believe we will see a next generation DTS based on the same platform as the upcoming Impala / LaCrosse with FWD or AWD. It is likely to be a very nice car, but a bit smaller - probably sized between the current STS and DTS.

I think you may be right, but if true...what will be the incentive to pay $20,000+ MORE, to get a Cadillac instead of a loaded Buick?

I am not looking forward to the next few years and smaller, less comfortable, Cadillacs with less content. :tisk:
