Yes, although I don't use it often I believe I only hear audio from one side if I remember correctly.
Re: 2009 Cadillac STS with HUD

In my 08, it seems to only come out the left front speaker but when I move to the middle of the car, it is equally coming out of the left and right. Where is the mic by the way?

It shares the OnStar / Voice Control Mic located on the rear view mirror.
Thank you all for the respomses. I can conclude that this at be normal. I'm seeking out a possible amp or simple modification that possibly will work.
The factory navigation seems to do the same thing. It plays through the front left speaker only ... BUT the volume is very very low even after I made sure the navigation volume is at level 7.
On the 2005-7 models, the volume is controlled separately from Nav/Radio (but with the same control) and can only be adjusted during the call. Care must be exercised to adjust it only as loud as absolutely necessary or the other caller will hear echoes and distortion.

I know it was changed in later model years, but I think that was the 2010-11 STS mop-up era.

How was it changed?

I never noticed a difference in the 10-11 models I've been in.
I believe than changed it to run the OnStar module. I drive a 2006 1SG & my wife's car is a 2007, so I know what I've read about the newer models. I haven't test-driven any in quite some time.

In 2009 Bluetooth was added to the vcim for some Cadillac models like the DTS and SRX, however since the STS had Bluetooth through the radio it stayed that way to my knowledge.
