Hi all.

So im new to the escalade world and just recently got my first one.. I got it at auction and it didnt have keys.

i went to GM and had them cut 2 keys off the vin. When i first tried to program keys a month ago, i didnt follow the resent procedure to the letter, and when cycling the key, didnt wait the 5 seconds. ( security light did go off)

(the one month delay was because i had to put a new engine in it).

now im ready to program the keys, and the security light doesnt go off.. i put the key in, on position, doors locked, and closed. security light is blinking (not steady). wait 15 mins.. light never goes off. did the full procedure anyways.. multiple times, didnt work.. one time the hood was up, wasnt sure if that would effect it.

Ive got a key guy coming over in the next day or two to help, see if he can do anything.. otherwise itll have to get towed to the dealership. ugh

Car starts and runs fine via remote start.

any help is much apprecaited.

got my hand on a TECH2 and confirmed its in lock down mode . but the tech2 doesnt appear to be able to reset the Theft deturent module.

anyone out there that might help?? my key guy never showed up.. now im talking to a second key guy.. but the options for anything other than the dealership are dwindling...

well , i avoided the stealership. local key guy finally came through with his specialty programmer, dont even know what it was. but he got 2 keys programmed for me.

You have to wait fifteen minutes once its in theft lock mode for it to come out of it. I did the same when i tried to program a blank key.

what do you mean by waiting 15 mins? i literally waited a month, after trying the first time(that put it into theft lock mode). then tried it was in that lock mode. then waited a day and tried again, then waited a day and tried again... never came out of theft lock mode. like i said the key guy programmed it for me in 10 mins.. but if theres a work around im sure others would love to know.
