Not bad advice in general (using an electronic cleaner) however it is doubtful the cleaner spray would actually get to and into the microswitch(s) buried within the door latch assembly. Also.. what "button" on the door handle are you referring to? There is no button on the door handle of a 2nd gen CTS.
Pulling on a door handle activates the door actuator, which in turn unlatches/frees the door latch assembly which then allows the door to be opened. The mechanical action of the door latch assembly during the moments of "door opening" and "door closing" mechanically causes the microswitch(s) inside the door latch assembly to change state.

Your 2016V is an entirely different vehicle. Yours is a GenIII. You are posting in the Gen II forum.

I have an issue very similar happening with my car. It's a 2012 CTS4. The interior lights will not go off, and will stay on for hours on end. The dimmer switch is not in the on position and it continues to happen all of a sudden on a daily basis. I took it in to a dealership, and they are wanting to charge me all kinds of money to put it on a diagnostics tester to find out what the issue is, and then the parts are so expensive. If this is just a simple basic thing to fix, and anyone has any helps for this.... please let me know. Also, when I lock the doors with the fob, and I press the lock button twice, it's no longer beeping. Just curious as to whether or not these 2 things could be related. Thanks!
Did you ever find out the issue while your lights were staying on?

The person you are quoting was on these boards for one day 7 years ago and has not been active since, so a response is unlikely.
What issue are you experiencing?

Does your CTS have a sunroof?
Often times clogged drains can bring about strange electrical happenings...

It does have a sun roof and it has 3 buttons by the sun roof that I don't know what they go to I'm assuming a garage door opener
Yes, garage doors. Do you have a manual? It might be time to get intimate with it. RTFM.

I'm not hearing the 2nd beep anymore when I lock the car so it's kind of making me feel like it could be the body control module
My first suspect is the driver's door lock actuator. If it has failed or is failing (i.e. intermittent) the BCM may not get the signal that your door is shut and it doesn't turn off the radio or interior lights. It's pretty common on these vehicles.
