Radio/Nav/Touchscreen went out on my RWD 4.6L V8. Wasn’t the fuse or anything else on the Forum threads. Pulled one from the boneyard with a similar VIN and installed it. Lit right up and it spit out a Navigation DVD, but it also displayed a ‘Theftlock Protection Activated’ message keeping all functionality locked. Local Cadillac service made it clear via email correspondence that they haven’t had success with this stuff in the past and didn’t want to work on this. (I’ll be buying my future CT* sedan somewhere else…) The folks at www.1factoryradio.com were very helpful even though I didn’t buy it from them. They said “both VINs decode to a YQ4 radio in interchange 638-00706 so they should be interchangeable”. My question is this, please: What type of (diagnostic?) equipment is needed to reset this replacement radio to recognize my STS VIN instead of the VIN from the boneyard STS? Any further insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help.
