How do I know if my car has HiD lights or not ? If it does can I just plug in a oem hid 6000k light ?

Do you have headlight washers? You'll see a small 2" square between the grille and headlight. If you have them then you have HIDs.

Ok is there another way ? Cause all I see between the grill is on the passenger side a square box with green wire that connect to another tubing , on the right driver side it kinda looks like a box

According to a 2005 sts rpo code T84 means I have Halogen lights .

Sure. Buy a LED headlamp conversion kit... If you want even less light output.Amigobear718 said:

Notice how EVERY factory led headlamp car has MULTIPLE projectors? It's because they need it to provide useful light.
Head over to the Escalade forums. Even the ones with the LED headlamps say light output is no where near as good as the standard HID headlamps...
But hey it looks cool and blue so it's gotta be good!

Personally I would not use LED headlights in projector or reflector headlights that are not made for it.
Clearly you have halogen as I originally posted if you have headlight washers it means you have HIDs if you don't then you don't.
LEDs have a different focal point than HIDs and Halogen lamps do... your ability to see properly will go down significantly if you use those LEDs. You can probably get by without any issue using an HID kit in those projectors but again those are also not recommended.
You could always get some HID lamps for the STS off eBay or a local salvage yard...

Ok thx. So If I want hid lights I need hid lamps n hid kit. Would it be bad to get hid lamps n led kid . Also I'm not looking forblue light I Just want 6000k whites like rest of my car

You would also need the reflector, which is the metal "bowl" the bulb passes through.
Damn this already becoming a pain the ass n I even get to the part where you have to take off the front fascia

Yes that would probably work fine. If you get the slim kit you can probably install the ballast inside the housing like the OEM setup is. The ballast on OEM is tucked in the bottom opening of the housing.
I would not go higher than a 6000k temp as the lumen curve peaks at 6000k and any higher and output goes down rather quickly.
Ok ty ill go with the slim option . I was just confuse cause someone said ill have to change my lamps too n have the metal casing for the hid bulb to go in .
