2007 SRX Struts - Front and Rear

Hello fellow Cadillac enthusiasts!

I am having trouble finding the correct front and rear struts for my 2007 SRX. There's a post for a 2006 SRX struts, but it just takes me to Northeast chat group....

I am looking for recommendations on brands and styles for a good ride. It appears "quick struts" aren't available and not sure if I need active electromagnetic or passive gas struts.

Also, tips on replacement would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you in advance!

Your 2007 SRX has shock absorbers.
You would have a ride select knob if you had magnetic ride.
Soft ride or sport shocks are available at RockAuto. Amazon and eBay are sold out, and they ain't cheap!
There's a TRW on closeout I would have purchased myself but they only had one left.
One of my shocks would have to be leaking oil and the truck would have to be bouncing all over the place before I would spend that kind of money, but I only have 84,000 miles on my 2008 SRX.

What kind of Shock Absorbers can I use? Looks like Front Suspension Struts & Mounts Kit KYB Gas-a-just For Cadillac SRX 2004-2009 are available on eBay for $300... But that doesn't solve the rear end.

Are they the same in the front and rear? It appears the front and back are different...

Also, looks like I will have to reuse the springs and everything else other than the strut itself?

1st you need to look in the compartment in the back on the right hand side above your subwoofer at your RPO code sticker and see if you have the FE1 or FE3 suspension.
FE1 is the normal most common soft ride suspension that went into a huge percentage of these cars. FE3 is the Sport Suspension pkg.

Where is the subwoofer and the rear compartment you're talking about? I assume the FE3 is magnetic option that would require the ride selection dial?

I'm not sure it's necessary to remove those, but I would only replace them if they were torn or rotten.
Here's an instructional video some guy put on YouTube that is replacing shocks on a 2004 SRX, which is exactly the same as yours, and yes you need special tools.
The spring must be compressed so the shock can be removed from the "strut" assembly which is an integral part of the car.

*KYB SM5845 x2 STRUT MOUNT < necessary to do the job right
DORMAN 523220 x2 STRUT MOUNT < costs twice as much as the KYB but it's not superior.

Some convert their suspension to the base model components to save money and to reduce headaches.
There are more shock and strut options available to me because I have the soft ride suspension.

GOOGLE each part number for the best price and availability on Ebay or Amazon, or order them all from *RockAuto because everything listed above is in stock.

It appears you have three choices.
You can either buy the parts your RPO sticker indicates your car needs, remove the parts and cross reference the part #s if you can't see them without removal, or take it to a shop and let them figure it out. I agree with the sage advice above. I think it would be wise if you pay someone with experience to swap out the front shocks in the strut assembly.

A question was asked earlier about how to separate the springs from the struts. Do NOT use what is commonly sold as spring compressors. Very dangerous. Find a shop that has a wall mounted strut compressor. Many shops have seen parts of the strut assembly bounce off of walls and some have been killed if improperly disassembled. The first time I did it , I paid the shop to break them down for me. After that, I felt comfortable doing it but only with a wall mounted strut compressor. Good Luck
