These GM large sized wheels have a tendency to get some surface corrosion on the bead surface. I've had a number of wheels leak air and the fix that finally ended my leak miseries was to pull the tires and lightly wire wheel the mating area the bead sets on. The chrome is not bonded well in that space and it literally flaked off with ease. From what I been told condensation caused by climates with large temperature swings is where they see the wheels do this the most.

I had the same problem on my 2008 until my tire store showed me one of the rims with the tire off. The rims were pitted and corroded on the inside. This was enough to allow air to leak out slowly. The "chrome" on the outside of the wheels was looking bad as well. To my amazement, the dealer replaced all 4 rims at no charge even though I was out of warranty. It is a known issue, so I would try to get the dealer to replace them. Even though I was glad to get new 22"'s, GM farms there stuff to the lowest bidder, so I wouldn't be surprised if the pitting happens again. BTW, I live in Florida so road salt is not the cause of the pitting, it's just cheap wheels.

I had issues with air leaking they put some wax between the rim and tire and so far its been good. I use to put 35lbs of pressure and in a week it use to go down to 30lbs. It use to drive me crazy but its not the rim they just but some stuff between the tire and rim and so far its been a month and its good.

Check the inside of your rims they are MOST likely bent, i had the same issue on my 2008 and when i went to discount tire both rims were bent on the inside from pot holes and the front looked fine.

My dad was having this issue with his 07. The dealer refused to replace the rims, but instead sent them out to be blasted and re-chromed. It kept happening and he got rid of the truck. That dealer no longer exists anymore.

The only way to fix this is to get wheels re-finished (re-chromed) or to simply dismount tire and scrub down corrosion and chime flake "lift off" and seal it with rubber bead sealer, then remount tire. And always use nitrogen!!!! The gas doesn't break down to water molecules like regular 02 does, especially when wheels get really hot!

Sending them out to be blasted and rechromed seems pretty good. Surprised it kept happening unless they didn't do a good job on it. I'm sure the dealer just moved to a different location.
