Car was running fine last night woke up to the car turning over good just won't start tried giving it fuel and nothing. It has half if tank of fuel any suggestions

Engine light is on but it was in before only thing I did was out fuel in

Well, if the engine light is on, I'd read the codes and figure out if any of those help determine why the car won't start.
