stopped by the local cad dealer in the xlr today, salesman called and said they got a 2006 xlr in to come look. the only thing i see that has changed is the gm badges on the quarterpanel before the rear tire (fugly) and no xm/onstar antenna on the trunk (its hidden somewhere), oh yes also the price, 82,000. ill stick with my black 2005 with 1600 miles on it, its new and paid for! he said the price for the xlr-v would be around 120,000 if you could find one. ha!

The XM antenna is hidden in the rear view mirror(s).

$82,000 is way too high unless he's refering to the total cost, i.e. full list ( unlikely ), tax, title, and license fees...

The XLR-V has an MSRP of $100,000, and it'll be interesting to see how long people will be willing to pay full list. I'm sure the car is incredible but I doubt it'll sell for much more than $90,000 once the initial rush is over. Still, $90,000 is big time money for any car, and there are a lot of imports that go for around that price. The only Euro car I'd consider over the XLR-V is the BMW M6 (black coupe only, don't like the convertibles lines), which I think will list around $100,000 :ill: .

Hi Vrocks,
I don`t like the back, the raised trunk on the M6 but the V 10 is sweet.

But anyhow, the best sound you`ll get out of an engine it`s a V8 engine.
The US did a great job in the last years with the LS1`s - LS2`s - LS6`s the Vtec Northstars and very soon Supercharged.

BTW the price for the regular XLR is K77, for the StarBlack K79 something.

Once the "initial rush" is over, the XLR-Vs will be all gone.
They are not making much of a production run of these cars. My understanding is that they are making enough for each dealership to get one and then maybe a few more.
So if you hop up an eighty thousand dollar car, then make only a handful of them you think they should sell for less?

Some of the bigger dealerships will get more than 1 XLR-V's early on... possibly 3 or more. Not that 3 is a lot but when you think about it, no luxury car manufacturer sells a lot of cars that are priced over or at $100,000 ( I think MB only sells a couple thousand SL55's and S55's a year ). Cadillac dealers should be able to sell around 1,000 XLR-V's per year.

Me neither but when the car's painted black the back doesn't look as bad (at least not to me).
I agree that they could probably sell more of them if the dropped the price even a little, but I think they want to keep from producing too many, if for nothing else just to keep the price as high as they want it.

I wonder how many of these will end up crashed?

I think we might be allocated 2 or 3 at this store actually.
We do a pretty good XLR business here.
I get to work on all of them :D
Initial XLR-V production run is slated to be 400. Dealers are asking $125k due to availability/exclusivity. It will be interesting to watch as "regular" XLR sales have been sluggish . . . '04s with 0 miles are still available.
wow, 7 posts in one day, on this thread, in this forum, thats fantastic!
I am not sure how many we have in stock. I know I saw an 05 sitting around somewhere. I'll look on the lot today if I remember and see how many we have collecting dust.
I know 2 of my customers are seriously considering buying the V when it comes out. I think one of them will and the other will wait and see if he likes it and then maybe buy one.
(they know eachother)
